Did you know that the collective noun for kookaburras is a flock or riot? I couldn't think of a better name, some afternoons in our neighbourhood our local kookaburras are so loud they definitely sound like they're having a riot. 😁
Why do kookaburras laugh?
At twilight, kookaburras make loud, long calls that sound like laughter to let all know the boundaries of their territory. Now we know why they’re laughing so much. Here I was thinking that they were just really happy birds! 🦉😀
