Where did Luna Park get its name?

Luna Park fun fact

Did you know the concept of Luna Park (in Australia) was based on the success of the first-ever Luna Park which opened on Coney Island, New York in 1903? I grew up in Sydney and went passed Luna Park on the train every day for years and never knew this #funfact. I'm guessing that's why Sydney's Luna Park has the funhouse inside called "Coney Island". Always learning 😉⠀

Another bonus fun fact is that the word "Luna Park" means "amusement park" in several European languages such as Polish, French, and Dutch 🤡 ✌🏻
