What's the difference between the bush and the outback?

Growing up in Australia, you hear the term "outback" often, and we all know what it means, or do we??? When you're sitting down with a kid who asks you to explain what the word means a lot of people have realised they don't even know and often get confused with the term "the bush". So here is an explanation between the two, one less question to Google.
