The Map of New Zealand Poster illustrates a minimalistic design of New Zealand as a country, outlining the separate regions with subtle white lines that match the white background.
New Zealand is a sovereign island country located in the south-western Pacific Ocean. It was first discovered (sighted) in 1642 by Dutch navigator Abel Tasman and was explored by Captain James Cook in 1769. New Zealand did not begin appearing on a world map until Abel Tasman's discovery in 1642. There were gaps in his charts and a big gap in the mapping history! Nearly 130 years passed before Cook made accurate surveys of the land. Despite all of this, the Maori - indigenous New Zealand people - are believed to have settled here between 1320 and 1350 by way of canoe voyage.
The Map of New Zealand Poster is available in blue or black, both with white backgrounds to give contrast to the beautiful country of New Zealand.
